FESTIVAL NEWS: Bloodstock confirms final acts, plus line-up changes Print E-mail

With three weeks to go, the final bands appearing at this year’s Bloodstock have been confirmed. Two changes to the lineup on the Sophie Lancaster Stage. also have been announced as has some extracurricular entertainment.

 

Welsh death metallers Venom Prison, who won the ‘Best New Band’ at last month’s Metal Hammer Golden Gods, fill the final slot on the Ronnie James Dio main stage on Sunday

 

Mantar and Scarab (who were tipped as one of Über Rock’s “must see” bands of the weekend) have both been forced to pull out of the festival, and have been replaced by Red Rum and Xentrix respectively.

The final batch of bands from this year’s Metal 2 The Masses competition also have been announced.  Raze The Void, K-Lacura and Embodiment will all appear on the Hobgoblin New Blood stage on Friday, Hoofknuckle and Hundred Year Old Man will perform on the Saturday, while the Sunday bill will be completed by Switchblade City, Sentience, Netherall, Seething Akira and Battalions.

 

In the final announcement, Kettering thrashers Unitra have been added to the Jagermeister stage on Sunday.  

 

For those with VIP Serpents Lair tickets, details have been announced of a number of exclusive sets in the VIP bar.  Darth Elvis & The Imperials will play on the Friday, stoners Steak and doom/punk/blues duo Noisepicker perform on the Saturday, while Sunday will feature classic rock & metal covers squad Black Shot Rose.
