TIGERTAILZ issue a statement regarding parting with Matt Blakout Print E-mail

The following statement is taken from Tigertailz messageboard and was posted by the band's guitarist Jay Pepper earlier today (16th July 2010).

Hi all,

Just wanted to provide an update in light of recent events.

Firstly, we'd like to wish Matt all the very best. He's been a solid member of Tailz for the last 4 years and we've greatly valued his contribution, both as a drummer and friend. He's always been fantastic with the fans and we've had some great times, done some fantastic shows and we're sorry to see him go.

But the future and operation of Tigertailz has to be based on us enjoying what we do both from a creative and operational point of view - and we just felt the harmony wasn't right in the band and decided to take the difficult decision of making this change.

We understand you're all wondering 'what or who' will be the next Tailz drummer... So can I just say there is absolutely 'NO' new drummer in Tigertailz at this time. We don't have any new replacement waiting in the wings. So all the speculation being written here and on other sites is just that - pure speculation.

What I can say is our old friend Mic Hourihan from 'Extreme Noise Terror' has kindly offered his services. So if we haven't managed to find a full-time replacement in the next few months Mic has kindly offered to help out at the next few shows. We're in no rush here and want to find the best person possible to be the new Tailz drummer.

These things are never easy and we realise you all want a solid Tailz line-up you can identify with and support - so do we. That's why we'll take our time to find the right person.

Can I finish by thanking you all for your fantastic support, you all mean the world to us and we really do appreciate every one of you. Hang in there and we'll be back in touch with more news soon.

But rest assured we will be back and the shows later in the year will go ahead.

Keep well....JP
