Maryland groovers Lionize currently are finishing off a 12-date UK and Ireland tour, which culminates at Bloodstock this coming weekend.

I took the chance to grab a chat with bassist Hank Upton when the band pulled into Belfast at the beginning of the week, to talk about new album ‘Nuclear Soul’, which is released on 8 September. We touched on the difficulty of promoting a new album very few fans will have heard on these dates, the need to constantly evolve, the influence of their friends in Clutch in helping them get to where they are today and changing setlists every night:

Lionize play Fibber Magee’s in Dublin tomorrow (Wednesday) and the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Bloodstock on Friday (8pm).
