Written by Jamie Delerict
Monday, 17 September 2012 04:00

dankoblacknblueAfter penning a sensational review of the Danko Jones DVD 'Bring On The Mountain', and then getting a gentle ribbing from the elders at URHQ when a promo copy of the new album from one of his favourite bands turned up long before his personal copy, who else could Uber Rock ask to wax lyrical on 'Rock And Roll Is Black And Blue', the sixth album from Canadian rockers Danko Jones, than Jamie Delerict, frontman of JD & the FDCs and a true punk 'n' roll legend (no matter what Punknews.org says)? What's black and blue and read? This review when you click that link.....

We asked the band's frontman Roger Deering to compile his ultimate 13 track mixtape for our now-fabled Midnite Mixtape Massacre feature, and he came back with collection of songs fit to grace many a C90....

Written by Jim Rowland
Friday, 14 September 2012 04:00

With UK stoner crew Desert Storm as support, the Camden Underworld seemed like the place to be when this tour hit Britain. Uber Rock's Jim Rowland was there, ready and willing to get instrumental...or at least part of that word......

Karma To Burn - 'Karma To Burn: Slight Reprise' (Maybe Records) Print E-mail
Written by Jim Rowland
Monday, 10 September 2012 03:00
Karma_To_Burn_RepriseAs bizarre as it may sound when it was originally released back in 1997 Karma To Burn's self titled debut album on Roadrunner Records was an album they really did not want to make because it meant they had to acquire a singer to secure the record deal. Now 16 years on said album has been re-released just as the band intended it to heard in the first place sans vocals, albeit for John Garcia guesting on one track. Jim Rowland picks up this most twisted of stories and rejoices in this 'Slight Reprise' of instrumental stoner rock at its very best.
