Rattlesnake Remedy, one of the UK's most hard working young bands, have reinvented themselves as Caduga and guitarist Ben Bartlett took time out from working on the band's new album to tell me about how his mum brought about a war on terror...gigs!

"Gigs from Hell? Ha, we have plenty! Here's one of my faves....Back in the days before 'Magic Man' hit, we were playing a gig on our home ground - a little canalside pub called 'The Flapper & Firkin' in Birmingham. This was a regular of ours, an infamous venue on the unsigned circuit.

So after sinking a few beers by the canal, we went onstage. The gig room was your typical beer stained hole, so with all our families and friends crammed in, we proceeded to kick out the jams. Now this was just after 9/11 and, as the set came to an end, we were told that there had been a bomb scare and we had to evacuate the venue. I think we got one last song or something because after we'd finished the soundman announced over the PA that "Ben's mum wants to know if he can get home ok"

I didn't get laid that night......

On the plus side we ended up piling everyone into our van and goin' back to our lockup where we had a big street party just outside the evacuated town centre.. I guess you can't terrorise ÜBER RÖCK, good times indeed."
