68_Eyes_2I must admit to being a little late arriving at The 69 Eyes party having only been turned onto their most recent album 'Back In Blood' by a very over enthusiastic end of year recommendation by Uber Ring Master Johnny H.

Having played the aforementioned album to death over the intervening few months, here I am strutting into the same North London venue where I'd witnessed the mighty KISS only 7 days before. I really didn't know what to expect as I entered the pseudo goth filled venue, I'd had a good trawl through their (sometimes patchy) back catalogue but was yet to be fully convinced.

As 'Helsinki Vampires' hit the stage with their brand new classic 'Back In Blood' my
fears were immediately quashed. Tonight we're not only treated to half of the twelve tracks from the band's Uber Rock recommended latest album but we also take a trip through the band's twenty one year Goth 'n' Roll history.

The mostly 'gothed up' audience lap it up, some even break a sweat, but most are far too cool for such things. I feel strangely consoled that front ghoul Jyrki 69 and I are the same age so at least I wasn't the oldest person there having a damn good time.
