 Five bands for £6, the lure of optional fancy dress, and Uber Rock plastered all over the posters made this launch night for The Muthafuckin' Guns' 'Missing Girls' single the place to be last Saturday night. Would men dressed as women, women dressed as men, and fuck knows what dressed as Papa Lazarou distract us from the stellar music on offer? Johnny H was six feet under and relishing his chance to be "local" for the night.

 With the passing of Phil Kennemore last year, Y&T mainman Dave Meniketti could very easily have drawn a line under the band once and for all. But respecting his dear friend and bassist's wishes that he get 'On With The Show' without him that's just what Dave and the band are doing.  The Mission are back, and celebrating 25 years of gothic greatness across European concert stages right now. The Bristol O2 Academy chose to celebrate its 10th Birthday by providing us with a first night of the tour special, and with it being £10 a ticket Dom Daley was soon dancing through the poppy fields all the way to Bristol on a gloomy and windswept Monday night.

 Having spent most of September touring a large part of Europe, Phil Lewis and Steve Riley's version of L.A. Guns recently found themselves playing their second Welsh show in just three days, due to what appeared to be some pretty bizarre tour scheduling. Johnny H was certainly not complaining though as three 'original' bands playing a local rock pub is the stuff he has wet dreams about.... We do worry you know.
