Dylan Nation (vocalist) is of industrial size ... that is the first impression I have when i nation take to the stage at The Carling Academy in Islington in support of Deathstars.

I'm not sure what I expected from seeing a logo in the foyer on their merch apart from space metal but I'm absolutely astounded to hear such gentle yet catching, hard yet soothing vocals well supported by driving bass lines, crisp guitars and a drummer on click for perfect timing, all moulded together by backing synth tracks and dumped right on top of every last Nazi outfit in the crowd.

Photographic evidence tells me that the set list was made up of;

'Awaken', 'Grey Skies pt. 1', 'The Last Summer', 'In This Moment', 'Time', 'Run Eternal', 'Full Tilt (till the end)' and research tells me that they've got two albums out and a new EP called 'The Last Summer'.

Visual evidence tells me that these guys are fucking brilliant. Amazingly enough, i nation have the incredibly talented bassist Johnny T out of Night By Night and they even had legendary Ben Christo, lead guitarist of Sisters Of Mercy as guitar tech. I don't know much more about them but I, along with you, am going to make it my business to find out more about a band that seems to have been off my radar for far too long.

Oh, and Deathstars played too but i nation took the dark crown of thorns and shoved it down hard on my head!
