Uber Rock's Gigs Of The Year 2011 Print E-mail

gigheader

Here it comes, our version of the inevitable 'end of year' list peddled by everybody everywhere. What makes Uber Rock's list different from every other? Well, how about the fact that the majority of the gigs listed below were attended by our badass writers simply because they are fans of the bands in question? How about the fact that not one PR cock was sucked or arse licked in order to get people into these gigs? Tickets were bought, fists were pumped, horns were thrown, the ulterior motive to have a great time to a backdrop of ass-kicking rock 'n' roll.

Complaints came from favourite songs not being played rather than the difficulties of getting our guest passes or of having to take photographs from the mixing desk. Uber Rock supports live music - we don't claim to be fans and then refuse to go to a show because our freebie hasn't been forthcoming, because we have to leave after taking three songs worth of photographs, we do this because we love it. Uber Rock is a gang and we want you to be a part of it: Join or Die.

Read on as the 24 members of the UR Massive that matter fill you in with their favourite ten gigs from 2011.

There they are, the hottest rock shows that troubled the senses of the Uber Rock Massive in 2011. Individual gigs from Adam Ant, Warrior Soul, Murderdolls and the Dwarves got the collective juices of our crack team of writers flowing while Black Spiders and Michael Monroe pushed Vintage Trouble for the most mentions, Rob Halford and Judas Priest creeping up behind those talented gentlemen.....in a manner of speaking.

The important thing is the amount of quality bands in quality venues playing amazing shows - support live music so we can keep these gigs in our favourite venues and at an affordable price.

Bring on 2012!
