 Your everyday US drive-in was rammed to the max with exploitation, gore and cheap thrills, arthouse cinema rarely got a look in due to it being more of an....err....acquired taste. Über Röck's Dead End Drive-In stands alone as it covers all the bases, including cult items that are eye candy to some and rat poison to others. Guess which one makes the bile rise in the stomach of Nev Brooks as he checks out the recent live DVD from cult outfit The Residents?

Then, earlier this week, he read the news of the Heavy Hearts benefit album that will raise money for Sorry and the Sinatras/Trashlight Vision drummer Lenny Thomas and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund and he felt inspired.
