What better way to start off a special edition of The Uber Rock Radio Show than by staring at a frozen computer screen knowing that the hidden reaches of the radio station's system, containing all our top tunes, would not be unlocked in the several seconds that the previous presenter had left us to get ready to start our unimportant show?

So, opening the show with nervous small talk while someone, literally, turned the whole system off and back on again, the forever put-upon trio of Gaz, Johnny and Watkins bit their lips and put another show in the file marked 'Why Do We Work So Hard At This To Be Forever Embarrassed?'

But, when things did eventually get going, Episode 32 of The Uber Rock Radio Show did turn out to be a bit of a classic. Dubbed 'Medium Rare', every song on the show was either unavailable to mere musical mortals or harder to find than an episode of our show that didn't fuck up. Containing songs from demo tapes, unreleased albums, and many corners of the rock 'n' roll world left untouched for decades, the show featured uber-rare songs from the likes of The Chelsea Smiles, Van Halen, Dwarves, Wicked Lester, Foxy Shazam, Mötley Crüe, Queen, The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs, Marvelous 3, Feline Groove, Flyscreen, Backyard Babies, Candy, and The Wildhearts....but with Snake from Tobruk on vocals.

All the show's favourites were still there - Watkins's Tune, Uber Rock's Big Issue, Kokk Rokk O'Klokk, Kick Ass Cover Corner, the Nugent Nine Seconds, the Scorpions Seven Seconds, Twenty Seconds of Tredegar - but given the rare treatment too.
