insomn_cd'Across The Dark' is a bit of an odd album to review and has been bugging me since it landed in my lap a little too long ago (distant shouts of "Lazy Bastard" echoing in my ears).

The reason for this is that every time I play this album I end up turning it off after three songs, having each time thought how good the first song is. This happens no matter which first song I start on, or the order the songs are played.

Hence the message here is that, whilst this isn't a bad album - far from it in fact, with some quality blackened death/metal on offer - it is somewhat repetitive with no song really standing out. It is staggeringly OK.

If you like Scandinavian blackened death/thrash/metal which is at times atmospheric, at times brutal and musically very accomplished give this a spin but don't be surprised if you don't last the distance.
