usethismanegarmDespite the press release emphasising the folkier elements and instrumentation of Manegarm's music this album really does have a very solid trad metal feeling to it.

Opener 'Mina Faders Hail' has a big chunky riff and huge galloping rhythms and the last thing that comes into your mind is folk metal. If anything the record feels like the harder elements of Skyclad, with a real Brit metal undertone.

It really is good shit. Great production, big guitars, gruff but not overpowering vocals, driving rhythms - you get the picture. Good honest fucking metal. All song titles are Swedish and follow Viking themes, but to pigeon-hole this lot doesn't really do them justice as their appeal could be pretty wide reaching.

Open you mind and give them a shot. A real surprise.
