Bark Like Humans DoIt is often said that a dog’s bark is worse than its bite… well, in the case of these mongrels from the dirty back alleys of Antwerp, one is as effective as the other, as this second album snarls and growls before tearing huge lumps from both you and your speakers.

Each and every one of the 13 tracks on this hugely impressive album is rammed with riffs dirty enough to grow a field full of Combers, underpinned by massive rhythms that crush like a concrete block being dropped on your head. That’s not to say there isn’t any melody or subtlety in there… there is plenty of both, as the quintet mould a sound filled with a hardcore groove that owes as much to Pantera and Sepultura as it does to Black Flag, Converge or Madball.

As the guitars broil and seethe with an intensity too many bands fail to attain, the undoubted standout performance is that of Ron Bruynseels, who spits his vocals with the venom of a tensing rattlesnake, and does with a conviction you can practically feel oozing from every one of his sweating pores, while at the time displaying an unrepentant energy and pugnacious attitude to drive home his message, even if he has to nail it into your earlobes.

If you like your hardcore fast and furious, intense and in your face, then this most definitely an album for you: buy it, slide it in, turn the volume up to ear-ripping level, then another notch and prepare to be savaged!
