Kicking off with 'Better For The Crime' and its smooth slide that's equal amounts of Led Zep and some bad mofo smouldering Black Crowes type of vibe going down with a decent build up to the chorus and a decent outro as well, in a old school UFO style. Track two is a walk on the Stones side of the road with a rhythm that has more than a nod towards 'Sympathy For The Devil' with some decent vocal harmonies going on.
Highlight of the EP is track three by a country mile and 'The Wanderer' has a great arrangement and great use of the gob iron with a dirty stomping riff but, like the other songs, could do with a good production and mix which would possibly give this EP another 10%......but hey, there is enough quality in the music to make these boys worth a visit in 2011 when they should get out a full length release.
Plenty of variety in this EP that makes Sweet James engaging and interesting - would definitely like to hear some more.
