slowburningcarSlow Burning Car is an agency (yeah that's right, I did say agency) dedicated to the preservation of creative individualism and the alchemy of rock through compositional application in the audio realm and, through this application, their objective is to solidify their position in music as the true diversity in rock.

Conceptual to say the least, I'm utterly dumbstruck; it's a close line between an idiotic state and genius but on the listening point of 'Adama', 'Ghola', 'Zeus' and 'Blowback' it's most definitely closer to the former and, talking of the former, mainman Troy Spiropoulos goes by the alias of Agent Prime or the Strategist, with the rest of the band (oops I meant agency) slipping in under various guises as Infantry Agent 6+, Agent 4:20, Communications Agent 5A+5B, battery Agent 3 and, of course, every agency must have an Oracle, in this case being Burt Malcuit who takes charge of engineering and production.

'In The Trees', 'Marry Me' and 'Man In Crisis' do go someway to saving the Slow Burning Car from totally burning down to the ground with some decent commercial moments. 'Call My Bluff' shows different influence once more, going down a '70s alternative route. 'Harum Scarum' takes slabs of the classic '60s Batman TV theme and 'First Class' is an entertaining, '70s inspired ditty. 'Siren' mellows it out in an almost country vibe and the album closer, 'Fabian's Stroll', grooves to my particular retro tastes, but too little too late for my overall liking.....

Slow Burning, maybe not................
