This Arcadia formed in 1996 releasing their first demo two years later, debut album 'Synth' was released in 2001 and this current release for 2010 is album number four for this modern industrial metal outfit with this current line up. They have been fortunate to get some decent tours including the Sun and Steel tour with Obituary, Body Count, and Henry Rollins.
Starting with track OO, the scene setting Roy P Nohl intro, you know this isn't going to be a chill out album, this album is for lovers of all things hardcore and extreme with chunks of death metal done in a progressive rock formula with songs about topics as varied as selling drugs and Little Red Riding Hood - starting to get the picture as to what they are about yet?
There are enough moments of catchiness and melody to keep the interest levels above just casting it aside as a non event and enough riffs for any old school metal head. There are other hints of influence if you listen closely with even a nod to Linkin Park, it's not all good news though as it is a tad repetitive and the standard pattern develops as you listen or wade through the tracks.
