FastwayClassic Rock is a real timeless commodity, blend your influences right and you're onto a sure fire winner. Fastway's current incarnation takes helpings of Led Zeppelin, a hint of Whitesnake, maybe even a little of Thunder's spice and serves it up with a healthy slice of Little Angels, all of this should be enough to satisfy the appetite of many a rocking soul providing of course they get the opportunity to sample it first.

Motorhead legend Fast Eddie Clarke's Fastway have lay dormant for a hell of a long time, with "Eat Dog Eat" being their (or should that read his?) first studio album for 21 years! The completely remodelled Fastway line-up now features drummer Matt Eldridge and former Little Angels, Gun and Uber Rock favourite Toby Jepson on lead vocals and bass.

Album opener 'Deliver Me' is certainly a statement of intent with its blues-rock stomp brimming with class and confidence. 'Leave The Light On' has a solid southern groove whilst 'Freedom Song' struts it's way out of the speakers and into your brain. Acoustic ballad 'Dead and Gone' is a real highlight, resisting the stereotypical rock formula with no big band coming in half way through for the emotional crescendo. Instead, the song seems to mutate into a completely different tune and a great grooving monster at that!

Much like with Saxon's latest release, Jepson's production sounds clean and crisp but retains that authentic edge you'd expect from a classic rock masterpiece.

If Classic Rock is your thing, check out 'Eat Dog Eat'. It'll be well worth the investment.
