TracerWith one foot firmly in the 90s grunge camp, and the other in the classic rock of the 70s, Southern Australia's Tracer embrace both a love of boogie rhythms and silken melodies. Released through Cool Green Recordings, the band's new album, 'Spaces In Between' opens up vibrant and alive with the first single from the album, 'Too Much', constituting a modern hard rock sound, which nonetheless embodies a vibe that is classic and familiar. The album abounds with sonic determination exploring the boundaries of stoner-classic rock with razor-sharp blues inspired guitar.

Embedded deep within the album is a sense of the dry and arid landscape that surrounds these Adelaideans, with coarse vocals rolling along to southern-styled, solid, infectious hooks. The selection of songs on this record paints a picture of vividly varying atmospheres. Songs such as the cruising 'Devil Ride' and the equally excellent 'Won't Let it Die' invoke images of wide boulevards leading out of town and on to the sun soaked highway, whereas 'Louder Than This' and 'The Bitch' are gritty, swamp trudging numbers, further accenting their bluesy inspirations.

Developing into a truly international force, Tracer are capitalising on their experience by presenting this confident and bold record of energised hard-rock. 'Voice in the Rain' and 'All in My Head' are epic standards, which break the album up nicely, with a mellower sound, which manages to retain that presence of power that is embroiled within the rest of the record. 'Dead Inside' is another highlight hitting the note somewhere between Soundgarden and Monster Magnet.

Tracer have been making appearances worldwide over the past few years and will once again be embarking on Europe-wide tour, sharing the stage with Royal Republic this coming October, in support of 'Spaces in Between'. Their developing success is openly evident and judging by these 12 tracks it can only be assumed that they are a monster of a ride when they're embracing the live stage.
