oapIf you look in a dictionary for "Sick" you'll find definitions including "inclined or likely to vomit", "deeply affected with a mental or spiritual feeling akin to physical sickness", "mentally, psychologically, or spiritually disturbed" and "delighting in or catering for the macabre or sadistic". It's safe to say that after listening to this nasty little four-tracker from Newport's sickest puppies that you will conclude that they probably should be pictured next to said definitions. Also, so infectious and virulent are the tracks on here that you'd probably class yourself as fitting at least two of those definitions having listened to them.

Courting some obvious comparisons to the pornogrind and goregrind genres courtesy of song titles like 'Sodomized With A Barbed Wire Dildo' and '3 Men And A Little Lady' their music is actually far from a one trick pony. Sure, there's some blast beats and heads down grinding but there's also some serious low-velocity chugging and more than a few neat, down-tuned pinch harmonics along with some tech-death flashes to keep you on your toes as you dig your next shallow grave. Indeed 'Sodomized...' ebbs and  flows like spurts from a freshly severed artery and closing track 'Unwanted' has a brooding intro that easily gives way to a looping guitar riff that Al Jourgensen would have been proud of. Along the way there's also some neat old-school death a la Massacre and, courtesy of the serial killer vocal delivery of Jinx and guttural animalistic "noises" of Sam, you have without a doubt the sickest slab of extremity to seep out of South Wales that I can recall.

Having recruited a real-life drummer since this was recorded (the beats on here come courtesy of the programming skills of guitarist Neil) and having knocked out some tidy live performances O.A.P. are certainly intent on bringing their sickness to the masses and this demo serves as good introduction to the band. Not for the faint hearted by any means, but if you don't need a heartbeat to get your rocks off then O.A.P. will certainly be your cup of intestines.
