To be honest, the name isn't that bad - apparently they came up with the moniker (after much deliberating) when the band decided to use the headline "Mum Locked In Castle" which featured in an edition of the Scarborough Evening News, a headline that seemed to sum up the sleepiness of the seaside 'retreat'.
Having formed back in 2007 and releasing their first EP, 'Vultures', at the end of the same year, 'Lions Led' continues the potential of that release with a new found confidence. First song 'Forgotten Prayer' reels with punk energy and angst while also sounding a little like Funeral For A Friend to these ears, which is never a bad thing. 'Milk' continues with the same raw energy of the first track. 'Soft As Thorns' is anything but that...
This EP is a glowing advert for a band still to hit their prime. The sounds on all the songs are lush, full bodied aural delights mixed with some classical flourishes which add to the music.
