For the most part, this record really is very good, mixing straight up hardcore with some off-kilter melodies, metallic riffing and quite harsh, often barked vocals. There’s a great tempo and urgency to songs like 'M', 'Neve' and 'Tempo Moderni' and if it wasn’t for a few dips on the odd song I’d have scored these even higher. It’s hard to draw comparisons with this lot as they do have quite an individual sound, but if you insist, there are hints of Killswitch Engage, Ignite and Death By Stereo. The entire album is sung in Italian and I really do wish more bands sung in their native tongue as it retains so much more passion in the vocal delivery than someone forcing themselves to sing in English. So all in all damn good. Check out 400 Colpi at www.myspace.com/400colpi |
