It's certainly not what I'm listening to as I crank out Beyond Dreams Of Grandeur. This is a band pitching their wares to the My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars market, pulling in the odd elements of the LostProphets and Kids In Glass Houses - I certainly don't think any of those could even by a long stretch be classed as any sort of hardcore, melodic or otherwise. Christ, the release package even compares them to the Beatles, let's get a grip here shall we???
Fishing round for even more comparisons Beyond Dreams Of Grandeur are even likened to The Black Dahlia Murder, and I just can't see it myself. Why couldn't the record company/promo company just let the band be themselves? Because this EP, in fairness, is full of great ideas (granted, some adapted from other bands), presented with a big money production that will no doubt appeal to the teenage market it's intended for.
'The World Loves An Underdog' could be 30 Seconds To Mars, its definitely got hints of emo with just a dash of pretence; so if you are looking for what this band actually sounds like, Beyond Dreams Of Grandeur sums it all up really.
