The Drastics play their D-I-Y punk rock with enough 'Ramones love' that they can muster as is evident on opener '10 Hours' and even more so on 'Monkey Tennis?' They delve into some more old school on '(Never Trust A) Taxi Driver' with its topical subject matter but, whilst I like where they're coming from, they pogo on a tried and often tired path where, to compete or truly stand out, there has to be that little something extra special amongst the music you put out. Sadly, that's where this four track EP falls down.
It's solid yet unspectacular and manages to put its size 10 in every punk rock cliché, though I'm sure they have a ball playing the music, a style they clearly believe in and love and will be happy to carry on doing so regardless of what I have to say on the matter.
Support band? Sure. Headliner? Sorry, not quite good enough.
