bitersseptThe second EP from the Biters and it's more of the same. With a sidestep from previous ensemble The Heart Attacks, this is straight down the line pop, glam rock and punk with some fantastic toe tappers and head nodders.

This five track kicks off with 'Ain't That Easy' with a splendid hook and some finely placed "Whoo hoos" and honkey tonk piano - t'is another top notch offering from Tuk and the boys. Now I've stated previously that I'm a sucker for some hand claps and "Whoo hoo" backing vocals and track two 'Melody For Lovers' has the vital ingredients with a 'Jags' style riff and some old school Mott The Hoople dual guitar noodlings around a catchy chorus. This EP fuses the best bits of when the likes of Mott and Slade were rockin' and a rollin' and it's cool to hear some American chaps doing it so well. These boys will be massive if they continue to write songs of this quality.

It's two excellent EP's in 2010 for Biters, let's just hope that a long player isn't far off. It has enough 70's charm and authenticity with that ragged edge that one can never grow tired of these songs, 'No Connection' being as strong as the opener. The world will be Biters' oyster if this standard is maintained, I bet you.

For fans of Prima Donna, Crash Street Kids and fellow UK bright stars The Adjusters - these people, are good times indeed!
