Playing a set that was largely made up of the four tracks featured on this self released EP I was quick to chase myself up a copy and help spread the word to those of you not yet lucky enough to have seen the band live
If like me you can recall the glory days of Thrash from around say 1985 onwards (and judging by how young the trio of members who make up Tempestora look their parents might just be able to), then you will relish every single second of this EP. Tempestora manage to blend the lightning fast riffs of Hanneman and King with the vocal rasp of Peavy Wagner, whilst forging their own identity stamp on tracks like 'Relentless' and 'Too Blind To See'.
I remember thinking "how the fuck does guitarist Jason Deakins riff that fast?" when I saw the band live. Well you have a listen to the main riffs to 'A New Age Dawns' and EP closer 'Wrath Of The Repentant' and see if you can give me an answer. That kid has one muthafucking fast right hand I can tell you.
Check Tempestora out in a pub/club while you still can. Because on the strength of the songs featured here, and building on the profile they will have gathered from playing this years Bloodstock Festival I would expect to see the trio not be too far behind their gigging partners Fell On Black Days in securing themselves a recording contract. Now whether it will be on the scale of fellow Slugfesters Revoker, well only time will tell.
