The JD in question here is not Jack Daniel but England's own original punk son Jamie Delerict (Panic, Teenage Casket Company, The Dangerfields) and to say he's brought together the cream of the crop of the rock scene is an understatement to the players here, or should I say The FDC's (Fucking Douchebag Cunts). The smoking rhythm section of Joey Strange and Danny Gunn (both Patchwork Grace) mixed with the lightning fingers of Dip's very own Dazmondo! JD & the FDCs are the band the (Über) rock world has been waiting for!
Being only a three track EP is a shame as the songs on offer are 3-4 mins of pure punk/sleaze bliss from the D Generation-esque stomp of 'Never Gonna Stop' with its to die for riff and lyrics to match. The JD icon does itself proud with 'Monsoon Is Now' with lyrics as profound as "I wanna break with all tradition, I wanna keep my own self warm at night, I fucked with phoney elation, but then I always seem to step into the light". This guy is something more than the usual type of wannabe star in it for the glory - JD does it because that's all he was born to do and the FDCs are ever the same. Given that JD has played with The Misfits on vocals and in a band with D Generation's very own Richard Bacchus, you kind of begin to understand why JD is the way he is and why now is the time for him to be his own star! Closing track 'Tie Me Up (Tie Me Down)' was written by The Dangerfields and continues the rock party that the DF's have always delivered - this song is no exception.
This ever so brief but sweet taster EP is something of a revelation to these sugar coated ears,
