XoriginOne does like the sound of Panpipes first thing in the morning, and that's exactly what greets my uber-lugs right now, building smoothly into a crescendo of guitar driven melodic Norwegian/Swedish Rock an' Roll.

I should perhaps just mention I'm not daydreaming here, I'm actually checking out the debut release from XorigiN, a band based around the nucleus of Vocalist/Keyboardist Johannes Stole and Guitarist Daniel Palmqvist, and those Panpipes I was parping on about, they kick start their opus opener 'Can't Keep Running' This is a well crafted little ditty with a decent tuneful chorus.

'Crying For You' is another smooth well-produced number complete with its foot tappingly neat chorus, and who knows there maybe some hit potential 'In The Blink Of An Eye'? which continues this strong debut album by going with yet more 80's inspired melodies 'Too Late' is a catchy summer's day type of tune whilst 'Gina' brings back flashes of an inspiration leaning towards, dare I say it the mighty Winger .  The song possessing a sweet middle section hitting you when you least expect it.

'This Is It' would be quite ideal to be used in some obscure TV advert marketing shaving products or the like with just a hint of a Survivor thing going down and the influences shine through yet again with a Whitesnake lite of 'The One For Me' but the track still retains an original Xorigin sound throughout and has an infectious singalong chorus 'Said And Done' as with the whole project is tidily assembled by the guys alongside their Producer/Drummer Daniel Flores.

'Matters To The Heart' rolls along steadily and competently and has a nice guitar outro 'What Love Is All About' has a sweet vocal delivery and as with all the previous tracks has it's memorable moments in one section or another whilst  'Mend My Heart' as well as being the final track is also as close to a ballad as we are going to get and a perfect way to end this fine debut album.

Melodic people who like melodic music should maybe give this a go, its well worth an hour of anybody's time.
