Opening track 'You Will Be Mine' comes across like a cross between The Gaslight Anthem and You Me At Six, however this is also where things get confusing as on the accompanying press release it states that JGTG have soaked up the power pop punk rock of My Chemical Romance, All Time Low and Fall Out Boy... and to be honest I like all three bands and I cannot find any similarities between JGTG and the three aforementioned bands. I honestly believe that JGTG have found their own niche in being themselves and do not need to rely on the power pop mantle.
One of the stand out tracks is the heartstring tugger 'Give You More' which comes complete with a deliciously infectious chorus. The emotive lyrics of 'This Night To End' cry to all those broken teenage hearts out there!
The band are looking to release their debut album in the new year after spending time with John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, You Me At Six) and I really will be looking forward to what the band have to offer on a fully fledged release. Live I imagine this band to come alive! This mini-album serves as a starter course for the main event of the debut album. I just wonder what's for pudding...
