Whilst the band have always had their melodic side this album is bone crushing in its hard 'n' heaviness, also showing a marked improvement to their arrangements and general songwriting. On most of their previous releases the songs tended to blend into one... not on this release - the songs each have a life and stamp of their own.
'Restless' blows the listener's face off right from the start with its energy, and that can be said for most of this album. While comparisions are always uneasy you can't help but think of Accept and on 'Love Kills Love' the band have nailed the 80s era of 'Whitesnake' down to a tee. 'Rockstar' continues the American influences while 'Burn Down The City' is the bluesy rocker. Mention has to be given to the new singer Jioti Parchardidis who is ultimately the saving force within the band.
The fist pumpingly anthemic 'Blinded By Darkness' invites you to see a hard rocking Victory and Jioti sings his heart out here. This guy is a terrific singer. Last track is a cover of 'I'm So Excited', the 1980s hit for the Pointer Sisters; Stamping their authority all over the song with guitars turns this into a winner!
Victory are back, baby - watch them rock!
