1amacMac Blagick are a rock combo consisting of Martin Wiberg(vocals), Nils Ekblad (guitar) and Karl Sjodin(bass). This LP is their second release following on from their self titled first album in 2006. The band hail from a place called Eskilstuna, (Sweden, yes I had to look it up!).

Where do I start with this one? On first listen what we appear to have is a band perched with a modern feel to 60's and 70's rock and psychedelia. Opener 'Superf**k' leans heavily on 'Volunteers' time Jefferson Airplane, followed by 'Garden Of Apple Trees' that hints of Jethro Tull, slightly heavier, 'Ravenheart', a ballad of sorts and then into 'Serbian Woman' which I have to say echoes The Thames Men (rock on all you Tap fans) with a hint of Fleetwood Mac.

And so it continues through the album, however if you're not a fan of the particular era I think you'll struggle with this one. In all honesty after a few listens I began to struggle, partly down to the production and partly because it began to feel out of its time. In all honesty not a bad album, but approach with caution. Worth a listen.
