With Hungary not known for its sleazy rock, this was a new one on me and 'Bombs Away' shows a hard rocking intent along the lines of a punked up Hellacopters or Backyard Babies - you know the drill - obviously influenced by the Scandinavian punked up hard rockers with a generous helping of Motorhead thrown in for good measure. 'Behind Closed Doors' sounds great and is a match for anything coming out of Scandinavia right now.
Five tracks running in at fifteen minutes is a great introduction to The Joystix who've already got several EP's and a full length album under their belt so, like I said, the playing is good and they have this genre off to a tee. If you're looking for a new band to enjoy then you can't go wrong with 'So Low City' for short sharp bursts of high energy rock 'n' roll. Although I'm not sure about the name of the band I do like the music and will definitely look forward to hearing how they mature on the next full length album. Good work chaps. Check 'em out!
