SoInLoveRockDon't let the name put you off - this Swedish band are keeping it real and hedging towards the great Clash and Hanoi sound rather than the metal of Hardcore Superstar which just about suits me fine. It's gloriously trashy and lo-fi.

Spinx B'stard is the frontman and songwriter and has managed to pen three decent tunez tipping the hat to his obvious heroes. All the right ingredients are in here, you know the ones - the Dolls, a heafty dose of 77 punk and the real trashy glam bands like Hanoi Rocks. It seems obvious to make the comparison which is why I have.

It would be nice to hear some more songs from The Slagsterz and hear them given a decent budget studio with a sympathetic producer who can get that couple of percent more out of the band and the songs. 'Southside Entertainment' has a cracking riff sat on top of a great backbeat and 'Ghettoblaster Attack' has me thinking it has a bit of Generation X in there as well, which can't be a bad thing.

This three track sampler is enough to make me want to hear more. It's raw, it's sloppy, it's rock and roll bruverz and sisterz, check it out!
