fire-at-willWhoever looks after quality control at Chorus Of One Records needs a pat on the back because to date I've not come across a duff album they've released. Following their uncanny knack of unearthing some of the most vital hardcore Europe has to offer, Fire At Will's debut full length sees them fulfil their label's remit to the full.

Taking an 80s NYHC blueprint Fire At Will show that France has plenty to offer, and it's good to see this kind of hardcore coming to prominence courtesy of the likes of themselves and  Viktims and giving the crust punk hordes, which Southern France has become renowned for, a run for their money.

They take the staple high tempo of 'A Broken Contract Of Loyalty' and mix it with ease with the Snapcase-esque sections that grace 'Stuck In The Past'. At times they remind me of Strife mixed with the aforementioned Snapcase, and most songs have a good mix of pace, melody and even some subdued passages. Dan Precision's (88 Fingers Louie, Rise Against) production also has a really crisp edge to it which really make the songs bristle with energy.

All round another very solid release from another top drawer European hardcore band.
