Signed to Italian label Nicotene Records, who have some mighty fine bands on their roster, this is something of a coup and some old skool NYHC gets the release it deserves. If you like a bit of in your face, kick to the nuts punk rock then you must be a faker if you're not tempted to pick this up because 18 tracks spread over 30 minutes is hardcore heaven.
From the opening salvo of 'Eat Cake' through to the final crash of 'Creepy Groove' you have the unmistakable power and passion of anarchy, rebellion, and political lyrics all honed in on some wicked bad assed hardcore. Fans of Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Agnostic Front and DK's will just love this album, it's proper old skool in approach and delivery. 'I Won't', 'Urban Waste', 'Eat Cake', 'Mental Patient' and the Ramones cover 'Havana Affair' are absolute belters. There isn't much straying from the tried and tested path here, it's just authentic and genuine and banging.
I love a bit of HC and it's nice to see that the songs on here that were written in the early 80's flow seamlessly with the tracks written in the 2009 - 2010 period. Some might say that's not progress but I prefer to look at it like this band of brothers have stayed true to their roots and in 2011 still have the chops to kick the living shit out of my stereo. NYHC alive and kicking in 2011 - with this and the new Agnostic Front album to deal with they prove that the originals are still the best and class, as they say, is permanent.
