WormrotYou might recall my recent rejoicing at Earache getting back to what they became famous for i.e. releasing top-notch extreme albums. Well my rejoicing has just reached fever pitch with the new release from Singapore's Wormrot. If last year's debut 'Abuse' took a few people by surprise, then 'Dirge' is going to absolutely floor you. Much as 'Abuse' brought back the insane grind of the mid-80's, 'Dirge' takes all the elements of the debut and turns them up about a thousand notches.

With 25 tracks clocking in at a mere 18 minutes it's a breathtaking ride. Relentlessly fast for the most part, Wormrot are not afraid to throw the odd breakdown in here or there, like on 'Principal Of Puppet Warfare' or 'Deceased Occupation', but it's really the manic intensity that really grabs you. When they really let rip they bring to mind a mixture of Dr And The Crippens mixed with Intense Degree, and that in my book is pretty fucking special.

To make the deal even sweeter Earache and the band have gone and done a Gama Bomb and made the album available for free. All you have to do is head over to Earache's website below approved_image_lrgand dive right in. Now you can't say fairer than that!
