Extreme_Take_UsExtreme are about as close America have got to their own version of Queen. In Nuno Bettencourt they have the virtuoso guitarist, in Pat Badger they have flawless bass player and in Gary Cherone they have the high camp spellbinding stage performance coupled with the vocal range most would die for. This time 'round the core trio are ably assisted by Kevin Figueiredo's pounding drums and spot-on back-up vocals.

In 2006, after thirteen years apart, Extreme answered every bad girl's prayers and reformed. Then in 2008, not content to rest on past glories, they released their fifth studio album 'Saudades De Rock' and toured the world. The planet's musos rejoiced!

Two years later Extreme celebrate their reunion with a brand new double live album 'Take Us Alive', recorded at the House of Blues on August 8th, 2009 in their home town of Boston.

'Take Us Alive' showcases material from all five of Extreme's studio releases and from the moment the band kick in with 'Decadence Dance' it's evident what the world of rock had been missing in their time apart.

From the band's back catalogue we are treated to a wealth of bona fide classics including 'Play With Me', the funked-up 'Cupid's Dead' as well as the anthemic 'Get The Funk Out'.

'Star' from the band's latest album comes over like a slick Broadway show tune, while the Zeppelin-esque 'Comfortably Dumb', also from 'Saudades De Rock', kicks some serious ass.

Set highlights include classics like the number one single 'More Than Words' and the sing-a-long top five hit 'Hole Hearted' which send the audience to another world and perhaps another time.

'Decadence Dance?' Too bloody right mate!
