revcoI have to say I have a soft spot (ooh errr!!!) for all things Al Jourgenson, founder member of Revolting Cocks and producer of this, their sixth studio album, ever since picking up a Ministry - 'Live At Lollapalooza' bootleg in the early 90's.

However, I always saw RevCo as a vehicle with a sense of sexual humour, not as intense as Ministry musically and, if anything, slightly more accessible (Parental Guidance Permitted). Thus this album, a follow up to a successful North American tour with The Jim Rose Circus and the 2009 releases 'Sex-o Olympic-o' and 'Sex-o Mixxx-o', is just what the doctor ordered and, just as expected, tracks like 'Dykes' and 'Fuck Monkey' lean on a heavy industrial dance heritage, a theme present throughout the album.

The Jourgenson humour presides over more than just the titles within tracks like 'Poke A Hot Ass' (never heard a native American called that before!!!), and 'Piss Army', plus the opener 'Trojan Horse' didn't half remind me of the mighty Spinal Tap, or is it Kiss? Either way its lead-in doesn't half sound like.......check it out, you'll recognise it. Meanwhile the two versions of 2 Live Crew's 'Me So Horny' that end the album via their paean to all things sexual, come intact with the all time classic "Me Love You Long Time" sample.

'Got Cock?' is definitely an album I'd recommend. Look past the schoolboy titles and humour and what you get is an up-to-date take on earlier material; not quite Ministry but what do you expect? Give it a go, put the cocks in your own hand.
