The guitar tones on this 'Exit' EP are huge, bit-crushed and earth moving. The bass is grinding, at times with a synthy sub-bass undertone. This massive sound, which employs more than a few Muse and Radioheadisms, is most evident on tracks like 'Exit', 'Unknown' and 'Existence' where the songs fairly leap from the loudspeakers - while the speakers themselves slowly vibrate free from their restraining screws.
The band radically sever ties with the aforementioned bands in the vocal department however. The singer is very much a rock singer though and though who delivers more of a Screaming Trees / Harem Scarem vibe through pure aggression.
Bad Sign are an extremely handy three-piece as it turns out. They've got their sound down and are as solid as a brick. They wrap themselves in the same soft focus ambience as My Vitriol but with a really hard centre that should set them apart.
