It's almost as if Neversin are trying to fit too much into each song and in doing so suffocating any chance of being special. Opener 'Jail' and 'Fairyland' suffer greatly from this, with that said, there is a glimpse of something that most band's lack... they clearly ROCK! But only in small doses.
'The Game We Call Life' starts off as a ballad that shows the band's Queen influence with a similar hue to 'Love Of My Life' and leads into a pomp-tastic version of themselves. Another bone of contention for me is the lyrics; now I'm sure that the band can come up with better lyrics than this! More often than not we delve into The Darkness-style lyrics but without the wit and smarts of the Hawkins brothers!
To me the band tow the line of 70s pomp, classic rock and prog too finely and come across as a bit of a joke.
