Having been inspired by the 1944 film 'Murder, My Sweet', the band was formed by drummer, songwriter and producer Daniel Flores who, after a few false starts of what was to become The Murder Of My Sweet, just by coincidence came across the magnificent singer Angelica Rylin - well endowed with the right look, voice and talents.
This Swedish band sound like the usual symphonic metal-type outfit from Europe which, ultimately, leads to my problem with this band - it has all been done before.....and better. That's not to say that there are no good qualities on offer, as there are plenty, but in this day and age I want to be wowed rather than slightly impressed. Honestly, this band could go the distance and become the new Nightwish which they so desperately want to be. If they took some risks and brought in outside writers there's a chance that they could finally take the world by storm.
'Death Of A Movie Star', which closes the album and which the band describes as their 'Bohemian Rhapsody', is good but it could be great! As per the norm for this type of band, they are making big waves in Japan and Europe which, if they carry on as they are means that they will only be a name there.
Still, a name to watch out for...
