Stahlmann_Quecksilber'Quecksilber' is the second album from Germany's Stahlmann, the latest darlings of the 'Neue Deutsche Harte' or 'New German Hardness' movement in German rock pioneered by Rammstein, and the similarity to their more illustrious German compatriots is there for all to see. Huge, crunching and precise industrial flavoured guitar riffs fused with Kraftwerk inspired electronica, and a deep booming vocal style singing entirely in German - this could easily be used to describe Rammstein, and this is exactly what you get with Stahlmann too.

The extent of my German doesn't really get past "zwei biere, bitte" so I can't really comment on the lyrical content here, but tracks like 'Spring Nicht', 'Tanzmaschine' and 'Meine Leib' have hugely catchy choruses regardless. The more atmospheric 'Asche' makes good use of the aforementioned Kraftwerk electronic influence, whilst 'Goetter' has an old school glam shuffle beat that Marilyn Manson would be proud of. There's even a club remix of 'Tanzmaschine' thrown in for good measure, if you're that way inclined.

If you're a big Rammstein fan, have all their albums, but still crave a bit more 'new German hardness', then Stahlmann is a recommended port of call to satisfy those cravings.
