'Crossfire Summer' has plenty of Heartbreakers wrapped up in some Hanoi Rocks licks and a great chorus but what won me over was the Mott The Hoople inspired guitar solo - a great melody and a great song.
'Saturday Night' follows on from the opener with a melody to die for, with some chant along singing and a proper rock 'n' roll riff on a good time song. Maybe a little more punk rock than Prima Donna and The Biters but it's along those lines.
Okay granted this is all "safe as houses" for sure, but who cares? As like I've said many times before rock 'n' roll is to be enjoyed and if you aren't having enjoyment out of these two tracks then I give up, or maybe it's just the fact you aren't meant to get it.
I love records like this it's bright and breezy and makes me feel good to be alive just to be able to play such cool music on my stereo.
My advice is simple - check it out because it's bloody groovin'
