Since joining TNT Tony Mills has somewhat divided fans with the changes that he has brought to the band, however I feel that the fans and, in general, critics have made Tony the scapegoat for a band who are constantly evolving from a great band into an amazing musical force...
Now it's known that I absolutely love Tony Mills' dulcet tones and this is like another shot of heaven for me! Opener 'Engine' (which is also the title of the album in Scandinavia) is like a Stone Cold stunner! It's simply devastating! The rock coming from guitarist Ronni Le Tekro's fingers is astonishing... The man has clearly found his mojo!
This album is clearly a sign to everyone that the band are now having as much fun as they can...given the heart attack that Tony Mills recently suffered and his leaving UK AOR band Serpentine. Mr Mills, clichéd as it may sound, has clearly found a new lease of life and is giving it his all.
With songs about sex and lots of it, TNT appear to be back to the band that we all knew they were and could be. Although, that being said, the band have released a heavy rock record that is so in the Here and Now it almost sounds too good to be true... but they have easily released what I believe is their best record since 1992's 'Realized Fantasies' - yes, it is up there with their best, and is Mills' best album with the band yet.
With a live version of their classic 'Harley Davidson' as a European bonus track, the band give us what I can honestly say is possibly the best version of the song EVER! Sorry to the purists out there... but can you honestly say that Mills doesn't nail it!?
I can honestly say that all of the songs on this album are great. Whilst I was a little skeptical of Mills joining the band back in 2006 progressively he has totally turned me around to believe that he was and is the only man for the job.....and long may he reign!
